RSVP members give many reasons for choosing to serve their communities. Some may want to use their experience in new ways; others to meet new people. Still others want to have a structured schedule (or not have a structured schedule). Most know that volunteering leads to the benefits of living longer and enjoying a higher quality of life But the most important reason that people volunteer is that someone asked them to. RSVP invites you to volunteer!
Citizens of Allen County are eligible to volunteer, with a special invitation extended to those 55 and older. The Volunteer Center does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, income or disability; we welcome all good people who wish to serve!
You may be eligible for free supplemental insurance during your volunteer time, opportunities for training, unique and unpublished volunteer opportunities, the chance to serve at community festivals and one-day events, and be accorded special recognition for your service.
In striving to meet the unmet human, educational, environmental and public safety needs of Allen County, our volunteers are not intended to displace existing workers but to assist, support and enrich their work.

There is no charge to join. The training time required will vary with different duties.
Volunteer Center @RSVP has partnered with more than 90 nonprofits and agencies to offer hundreds of different volunteer opportunities. Our staff works around your schedule to find a volunteer opportunity that fits your interests.
Volunteer Center @RSVP members work in a variety of community assignments: tutoring children, promoting adult literacy, helping with food distribution to those in need, providing health education, serving as museum docents, providing vital administrative support--and much more! The opportunities are endless. Tell us what YOU enjoy doing as a volunteer, and we'll find you the best assignment.
Opportunities for Volunteer Center @RSVP members to give of their time, talent and passion run the gamut from episodic (one- or two-time events) to regularly scheduled opportunities. Our staff is committed to matching prospective Volunteer Center @RSVP members with the most appropriate partner, taking into account an individual’s interests, location and availability.
